My firm acts for many vulnerable clients some of whom lack mental capacity to conduct their claims. Where clients are awarded damages but lack mental capacity to manage the money we often refer them/their Litigation Friend to Andy Riddle of Professional Deputies to apply for deputyship and thereafter to act as deputy. I have found Mr Riddle to be extremely competent in making applications for deputyship. He is very responsive to initial inquiries and very helpful in explaining procedures and timeframes and dealing with queries. He is very prompt at gathering the necessary information and deals efficiently, effectively and promptly with the Court of Protection so that an order is obtained as soon as possible. I referred one particularly vulnerable man to Mr Riddle in 2017 who was particularly challenging to work with due to his mental illness, alcoholism and chaotic lifestyle. I found Mr Riddle to be effective and patient in dealing with this client.
